BBC documentary: Multichoice removes TB Joshua’s Emmanuel TV from DStv

The broadcasting company, Multichoice DStv, has announced its decision to stop airing Emmanuel TV, a religious network founded by the late T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN. This move is in response to a controversial documentary produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, which features individuals claiming to be former members of the church, alleging mistreatment by the late prophet. Multichoice’s message on screen indicates that the termination of Emmanuel TV’s broadcast will commence from January 17, 2024. In addition to ceasing broadcast on DStv, Emmanuel TV will also discontinue its services on StarSat and other pay-TV platforms. This controversial decision by Multichoice follows a three-part documentary by BBC which investigated allegations of atrocities and sexual crimes involving the late TB Joshua and his disciples. The documentary reportedly involved interviews with at least 30 alleged former members and workers of SCOAN.
