In her career as a singer, Wilson Phillips band members grew up in Southern California in the 1970s and ‘80s. They have been singing together, sharing their joys and sorrows and managed to develop their own harmony which allowed them to stand out in a crowd. In 1989, the trio signed with home plate SBK Records. The group is also known for being the daughters of famous musicians; the Wilsons of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, and of John Phillips and Michelle Phillips from The Mamas & The Papas. In 1990, the album bearing their sold over 10 million copies worldwide, and three singles became the number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the top seller among female groups of time. In 1990, the band won Billboard Music Awards for song of the year with “Hold On”, besides having been nominated for four Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards.

In 1993, Chynna left the band to start a solo career, and released her first solo album “Naked And Sacred” with the musical house EMI in 1995; the song “I Live for You” from the album was used in the film “Striptease” (1996). However, the album was a commercial flop, having sold only nearly 22,000 copies in the USA.

Additionally, Chynna Phillips also had a career as an actress, long before she achieved fame with Wilson Phillips. She appeared in movies such as “Some Kind of Wonderful” (1987) directed by Howard Deutch, “Caddyshack II” (1988) directed by Allan Arkush and “Say Anything…” (1989) by Cameron Crowe. Moreover, she appeared as an extra in “Roxanne: The Prize Pulitzer” (1989). Additionally, she used her voice in 2004 for the TV channel Nickelodeon in the series “Danny Phantom”. However, also in 2004, Chynna re-united with Carnie and Wendy Wilsons for an album of covers entitled “Songs California” that portrays the days of glory of the music of their parents bands’ The Mamas and the Papas and The Beach Boys. Recently, she was seen in the comedy film “Bridesmaids” (2011) by Paul Feig, in which Chynna appeared as herself.

Her engagements in music and films have added steadily to the total size of Chynna Phillips’ net worth.

Finally, in the personal life of the singer and actress, she has been married to actor/producer William Baldwin since 1995, and the couple has three children.
