The previous record for a property had previously been set back in July 2021.

Strathfield has shown itself to be a major hotspot for property buyers, with the record price being broken for the third time in three months.

Located at 54-56 Llandilo Avenue, ‘Dunrobin’ is considered to be the finest and most admired landmark mansion within the area - selling for $9.5m in July this year.

The name Dunrobin means Robin’s Hill or Fort in Gaelic, originating from Robert the 6th who was Earl of Sutherland that died in 1427.

With 2757 sqm of picturesque north-facing gardens, the propety offers five bedrooms, a ball room, polished timber floors and two bathrooms with two powder rooms.

Part of the record price success can be attributed to the property’s location. Located in the Golden Mile just 400 metres away from Trinity Grammar, the mansion enjoys extensive park grounds and an all weather tennis court.

Dunrobin was purchased by a young family looking to renovate and tranform the house with brand new interiors.

It was listed by father-son real estate team Joseph and Sam Georges from Georges Ellis & Co and was sold on the 13th July 2021.

“In the 28 years I’ve been in property, I’ve never seen anything like it,” Joseph Georges told the Daily Telegraph.

“It’s a luxury landmark mansion in every sense of the word.”

The Golden Mile area features wide tree-lined streets with an assortment of mansions, Victorian homes and Californian bungalows.

Since 2016, houses within the area have fetched prices well above $2.28m. This has increased by $300,000 in the past 12 months.

Even abandoned houses with dilapidated structures still fetch around $4.4m within the precinct.
